Selected from over 1,800 entries, ‘Fortune Flames’ was named a finalist the 2026 SAA Artists of the Year Awards.

This post shares more about the awards evening and exhibiton at Cass Art Space Kingston, as well as the painting itself.

Sam was invited back to Guildford Festival of the Arts to complete her second Artist in Residence position with them.

The residency and entire festival was a huge success, taking over the entire town centre and filling it with colour!

A look back at Sam’s 4-metre-wide booth in the centre of the fair, which gave her plenty of space to create something colourful and, frankly, quite difficult to miss.

We filled the booth with a vibrant selection of mixed media paintings spanning almost four years of her practice.

This blog post shares photographs from the Private View of the ‘Out of the Blue’ exhibition at New House Art Space.

‘Midnight Tide’ is part of the show, featuring works by various local artists.

A look back at ‘Everyday Magic’, a pop up exhibition at The Gallery at the Playroom in Archway, London.

I exhibited two vibrant mixed media paintings in the show, which I go into in a little more detail in this post.

Alongside being shortlisted for the overall prozes, three of my portrait paintings are up for the People’s Choice Award and I'd be incredibly grateful if you would take a moment to vote for them.

This short blog post explains how to vote for your favourites.

I'm delighted to share that three of my portrait paintings have been shortlisted for the SAA Artist of the Year 2026 competition.

After being a finalist in 2023, 2024, and 2025, it's an incredible honour to be recognised once again.

My online shop has been updated with a wide range of new pieces, making this my biggest shop update in quite some time.

In this blog post I share a little more about what’s available, touching on my inspirations and intentions.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined my sold-out Highland Cow Paint & Sip at Art & Grind!

It was a brilliant evening full of creativity, cake and conversation, with a herd of completely unique cow paintings created.

If you missed out, bookings are now open for my next Paint & Sip on Friday 10th July!

What does it mean to bear witness in a world shaped by conflict? ‘The Persistence of Hope’ is my latest self-portrait that reflects on justice, remembrance, and the feeling of helplessness that can accompany the daily cycle of troubling headlines.

Through bold colour and symbolic imagery, the painting explores how hope can endure, persist, and even flourish amidst uncertainty.

With three paintings on display at Fringe Arts Bath 2026, I've loved being part of a festival that has filled Bath with creativity, conversation, and contemporary art.

Here's a look back at some of my favourite moments before the exhibitions close.

Part of being an artist means occasionally stepping out from behind the easel and in front of the camera.

I'm delighted to have a new set of studio photographs, taken by Jack Attridge Photography.

Three of my paintings have been selected for Fringe Arts Bath 2026 as part of The 2020s: Sacred Brands and Disposable Gods, Presented with Limited Ad Interruptions, curated by Roxanne Darby.

Featuring seagulls, puffins, melting ice creams, and suspicious amounts of tinned fish, the exhibition reimagines contemporary artworks as historical artefacts from the distant future.

Mulberry Dreams received a Highly Commended award at the 2026 RBSA Portrait Prize exhibition at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.

Selected from over 800 entries, the exhibition celebrates contemporary portraiture from artists across the UK and beyond. As someone who has only recently begun sharing portrait work publicly, this recognition feels especially meaningful and marks an encouraging moment within the development of my practice.

I’m delighted to share that my painting ‘Mulberry Dreams’ has been selected for the RBSA Portrait Prize exhibition in Birmingham.

The RBSA Portrait Prize is a celebration of portraiture, one of the oldest and most enduring artistic traditions.

I’ve recently put together a video as a way of opening my studio door and inviting you in.

This short film is part studio tour, part conversation. It offers a glimpse into where I work and the intentions I’m putting into my pieces.

There’s something quietly magical about an evening where paint, laughter, and a good drink all share the same table. This week, I’m inviting you to step into exactly that kind of atmosphere.

A closer look at the two paintings I have entered for consideration for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, diving into the deeper meanings and thoughts behind each piece.

Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time, building a regular creative habit, or simply soaking up Guildford’s vibrant arts scene, there’s something here for everyone.

Here’s a round-up of the events and classes I’m running locally, alongside other wonderful creative happenings in the area that are well worth marking in your diary.

I’ve spent years playing, collecting, and arguing over board games. Eventually this enthusiasm spilled over into my sketchbook, then onto canvas, and now onto the walls of Unplug + Play, Guildford’s board game cafe.
