Friday night marked the Private View for ‘Oil in Emotion’, an exhibition featuring the work of my wonderful oil painting class, AKA the Sydenham Road Artists.

The event was attended by friends, family, and art lovers, uniting to celebrate and support each of the artists. The atmosphere was one of genuine admiration and connection, a reflection of the community spirit which defines this group.

‘Oil in Emotion’, an exhibition of oil paintings by a group of talented local artists I am proud to teach, is opening next week at Art & Grind in Guildford!

For the festival, I chose to work on a new piece I’ve been working on: a hybrid animal/ human portrait exploring the theme of anger.

Taking a painting through its awkward “messy middle” stage is not usually something I’d choose to do in full view of Guildford High Street, but that’s what made the experience such a fun challenge!

From 25–28 September, I’ll be taking part in the first Guildford Festival of the Arts, a town-wide celebration of creativity with talks, workshops, and exhibitions.

I’ll be back at Art & Grind as Artist in Residence, creating a new painting live in the café window each day from 2–5pm.

I’m still pinching myself after the incredible experience of my first solo exhibition at New House Art Space, Guildford.

Opening night and the weeks that followed have been nothing short of surreal and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to share my work with the world.

Earlier this Summer I was voted the People’s Choice award at the Art & Grind Summer exhibition for ‘Seagull Sundae’, a painting full of seaside nostalgia, sugary chaos, and one very smug bird.

My very first solo gallery exhibition, Urban Instincts, is opening this September at New House Art Space

in Guildford. This is a huge milestone for me as an artist — bringing together four years of work in one space for the very first time.

I’m absolutely thrilled to share that my painting ‘Cooking with Gas’ has been selected as a finalist for the SAA Artists of the Year 2025 award. Additionally, it’s in the running for the People’s Choice Award and may be featured in the SAA’s finalists exhibition later this year.

This month marks six months since I became the permanent host of the Guildford Drink & Draw events- and what an inspiring journey it’s been so far!

I’m thrilled to announce that a new series of 6-week evening courses with Surrey Adult Learning will begin very soon! These small, welcoming classes are perfect for adults of all skill levels, and offer a relaxed, encouraging environment to learn, explore, and grow.

I’ve partnered with the beautiful Harbour Hotel in Guildford to host a series of Paint & Sip events, beginning this June.

To promote the events, I have been invited to paint live at the hotel’s upcoming Silent Pool launch party this week, a very special event that I’m honoured to be a part of.

I sold several original paintings, soaked up the sunshine, and had some amazing chats at Farnham makers’ market this weekend- a truly joyful day that felt like a big step in my journey as an artist.

I’m excited to share that I’ll be displaying a collection of my 6” x 6” oil paintings as part of the upcoming ‘Evoking Connections’ exhibition at The Horton Arts Centre in Epsom.

This exhibition is a celebration of connection, featuring work from both neurodiverse and neurotypical artists, each exploring the many ways we relate to one another and the world around us.
