An introduction to my work and studio
There’s something quietly revealing about inviting people into your studio… It’s a space for play, intentions, persistence, frustration, sanctuary, and a reflection of how you think.
I’ve recently put together the following short video as a way of opening that door and inviting you in. This short film is part studio tour, part conversation. It offers a glimpse into where I work and intentions I’m putting into each series.
Two Bodies of Work
In the video, I talk about my two main bodies of work: Urban Animals and 21st Century Woman.
Urban Animals explores the tension between wildlife and the built environment- how nature is forced to adapt and exist within structured, often restrictive, urban spaces. I wanted us to question our impact on the environment as we move through the world.
21st Century Woman, on the other hand, shifts focus toward identity and perception. These pieces are rooted in my own contemporary experiences of womanhood- complex, layered, and often shaped by external expectations as much as internal realities.
A Starting Point
This video is intended as an introduction, a starting point for anyone interested in my work.
Whether you’re someone who follows contemporary art closely, or you’ve simply come across my work for the first time, I hope it offers insight into the ideas behind what I create.
If you do watch the video, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.
