Sold out workshop a delight: Looking back at Friday’s Highland Cow Sip & Paint

Two finished Highland cow acrylic paintings displayed beside a bottle of prosecco during a Paint & Sip evening led by artist Sam B. Kennedy at Art & Grind in Guildford, Surrey.

Last Friday's Paint & Sip evening at Art & Grind was such a joy from start to finish. The event sold out with 20 wonderful painters, and I honestly couldn't be more grateful for all the support. Seeing so many people come together to spend an evening getting creative is something I never take for granted.

(I’m already excited for the next event, and you can click here book your tickets!)

A huge thank you goes to Trish and the fantastic team at Art & Grind for hosting us so brilliantly. As always, they looked after everyone, and we even got to enjoy samples of delicious cakes! The whole evening felt relaxed and joyful from the moment people arrived.

This month's painting featured one of my favourite subjects: Highland cows! Throughout the session I guided everyone step-by-step through the painting process, sharing tips and techniques for building up layer by layer with acrylics.

Even though everyone follows the same demonstration, each person brings their own style, colour choices and personality to the canvas. By the end of the evening we had a herd of unique Highland cows, each with its own charm. It was wonderful to watch everyone's confidence grow as the evening went on.

Most importantly, there was plenty of laughter, conversation and creativity. That's exactly what I hope these evenings can be: a chance to switch off from everyday life, enjoy a couple of hours of painting, and discover that creating art doesn't have to be intimidating.

If you missed out this time, don't worry because the next Paint & Sip is just around the corner!
