Hand-built ceramic sculpture, 2024
Tentacles emerge from the vessel's surface, looping to create playful areas of negative space that invite the viewer to look through the sculpture as well as around it. Small dots and barnacles punctuate the surface, balancing the flowing movement of the tentacles with delicate textural detail.
Glossy layers of blue, green, and white glazes cascade over the surface, capturing the colours of frothing seafoam dancing on ocean waves.
The widest section of the vessel is exaggerated further with tentacles pushing outwards, breaking down the traditional silhouette into something distinctly organic and alive.
Dimensions: W 20cm × H 20cm × D 20cm
Part of the 'Octopots' series, a limited collection of hand-built ceramic sculptures, created in 2024.
