Urban Animals
This series examines the intricate relationship between wildlife and the built environment. Each artwork is built in layers- using oils, inks, acrylics, spray paint, and collage- to reflect the complexity of the urban jungle and the overlapping stories within it.
Each painting is characterised by vibrant, graffiti-inspired motifs which contrast natural forms against urban textures. For some pieces, human detritus has been embedded directly into the canvas. These works convey the energy that connects all living things, bringing together elements of nature, chaos, structure, and tension. ‘Urban Animals’ brings attention to the animals that exist in the margins of our everyday lives- those navigating spaces shaped, disrupted, and dominated by human presence.
