Paint & Sip success: A Night of Creativity, Cacti & Community

Guildford Artist Sam B. Kennedy poses with the Sip & Paint attendees. The creative event in Guildford was an art workshop, and here we see the participants standing with the artwork they created at the event.

On Friday evening, I had the absolute pleasure of hosting a Paint & Sip night at Art & Grind in Guildford- and what a joyful evening it was!

Twelve wonderful guests joined me for a relaxed and laughter-filled workshop, where we explored the magic of watercolour. We started with basic brushwork techniques and gradually developed them into a whole range of expressive cacti shapes. It was amazing to see everyone’s unique style come through as we experimented with different watercolour surfaces and let the creativity flow.

There’s nothing quite like watching a group of people- some picking up a brush for the first time in years- lose themselves in the process of painting, wine in hand, conversations flowing. The energy was warm, curious, and full of encouragement, and by the end of the evening, each person had created a beautiful piece to take home. I’ve even heard a few have taken pride of place on fridges- surely the ultimate compliment!

A huge thank you to everyone who came and made the night so special. Your company, enthusiasm, and creativity made it a truly memorable event. And of course, a massive shout-out to Trish and the wonderful team at Art & Grind for hosting us so generously- you created such a welcoming space for us all to get creative.
